Small Luxury Hotels of the World will recognize the efforts of travel agents
at its 15th annual international conference in New York Apr. 19. The event is intended to
honor the accomplishments of the travel community by rewarding three agents in
three categories. The top overall agent award will be given to the agent
responsible for booking the most SLH business between Jan. 1 and Mar. 31. The
winner will receive a seven-night vacation for two to Italy replete with a host
of frills such as a new five-piece Samsonite luggage set, a $1,000 shopping
spree and access to a luxury sports car. The second award, the SLH Brand
Ambassador honor, will be bestowed on the travel agent who best supported the
SLH brand in 2006. The prize includes four nights in London
and Paris,
dinner at a Michelin-star restaurant and a $1,000 shopping spree. Third prize
goes to the agent who makes the most expensive booking at an SLH hotel for
stays between Dec. 1, 2006 and Mar. 31, 2007. The winner receives a private
dinner in their home prepared by Steve Zobel, executive chef of the Triomphe
restaurant in New York's
Iroquois Hotel. Agents may submit a nomination by Feb. 28 at [www.slhconference.com/awards].
