Galileo Responds to AA Booking Fees, Launches Program

Galileo International announced the launch of a program that would protect agents from booking fees, as well as ensure full content from participating airlines. The program, called Galileo Content Continuity Program, is in response to American Airlines' decision to charge agents using certain GDSs, Galileo included, a $3.50 per-segment booking fee. The airline made the announcement Wednesday. Agents who enroll in the Galileo Content Continuity Program will escape the necessity of paying the fee, Galileo stated. Carriers participating in the program include American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Northwest Airlines, United Airlines and US Airways.
