KeeComm Launches International Cellphone Service

Kee Communications has begun providing rental cellphone service designed to provide travelers with international connectivity and English-language support services. KeeComm ships an international cellphone to the traveler's home or office that has been programmed with a local number within the traveler's destination. Knowing the number before departure makes it simple for travelers to provide it to colleagues, business contacts and family. KeyComm says that by partnering with service providers in China, Hong Kong, India and Japan it has secured discounted local-service rates that it passes on to its customers without roaming charges. According to KeyComm, calls under its service from Asia to North America cost users less than 40 cents a minute, while the per-minute cost of incoming calls is nominal and sometimes free.
