Marriott and Ian Schrager Announce Boutique Hotel Brand

New York-Marriott International Chairman and CEO Bill Marriott and Ian Schrager, credited with the invention of the boutique hotel, this morning announced a joint partnership they believe radically rethinks the lodging experience. The two also promised that the venture would create a whole new hotel category on a large scale. The press conference took place at 10 a.m. ET at the Private Roof Club of the Gramercy Park Hotel in New York City.
