NYC & Company, the tourism and marketing organization of New York City, has opened an office in Canada. This new office will be represented by VisionCo., which worked on Toronto's bid for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. "The opening of a tourism marketing office in Canada comes at a pivotal time with the Canadian dollar hitting record highs against the U.S. dollar," said George Fertitta, CEO of NYC & Company. "With the economic advantages of traveling to New York City, we believe that there is no better time than now to establish a more formal presence in this key market." Last year, 840,000 Canadians visited New York, and the city predicts 2007 arrivals will reach 880,000.

The office will be located at 99 Blue Jay Way, Suite 300 in Toronto; agents can call 416-341-9923 for more information. This is the ninth office that NYC & Company has opened this year, giving it a total of 16 international offices. (JM)
