Open AXIS Group to Host Meetings on Airline Distribution

The Open AXIS Group, at the center of the debate over airline direct connect programs, will address airline distribution and its XML Industry Standard in dual Strategy and Standards Forums to take place in Miami (Feb 23-24, 2011) and London (Mar 16-17, 2011). All existing and prospective Open AXIS Group members, as well as industry analysts, are invited to attend.

The dual Miami-London venues were selected to encourage the broadest possible global participation. Both meetings will have similar agenda and format, which will include an evening welcome reception followed by a full day working session.

The Forum Agenda will span both strategic and technical topics. Executive director Jim Young will deliver a keynote presentation addressing the current status and future direction of the Open AXIS Group XML Industry Standard as well as the larger Distribution 2.0 model on which the standard is predicated.

Guest speakers will include representatives from both airline and allied membership sectors, including a case-study approach to Distribution 2.0 implementation. A detailed review of the existing Open AXIS schema functions will be presented, including a Call for Papers inviting contributions to the standard from the membership community.

Registration to attend either session is free for Open AXIS Group members and $100 for non-members. Visit www.openaxisgroup.org/events.html.
