Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG), Americas, has announced that Randy Alleyne will be the president of its Liberty Travel brand, and that John Vandenheuvel will take the helm as president of GOGO Vacations, the position Alleyne currently holds.
Emma Jupp, Liberty Travel’s current president, will become the new EVP of product for the Americas. All appointments are effective January 1, 2016.
Randy Alleyne joined Flight Centre in January 2013 as the vice president of GOGO Vacations, before being promoted to president of the brand in April 2014. He has strengthened the GOGO brand, accelerated the growth of GO Groups, championed the growth of Worldwide Traveler, and recently introduced GOGO Español, FCTG said. Alleyne joined the company after having held senior leadership roles in Circuit City and Walmart.
John Vandenheuvel, who is currently the operations leader for GOGO, joined Flight Centre as a consultant in Los Angeles in the early years of the company’s expansion into California. He has also worked in other businesses within FCTG, such as Stage & Screen and Corporate Traveler, where he launched the brand in New York.
Other moves within FCTG, effective January 2016, include:
Mike Friend will take on the newly created role of EVP of leisure operations for the Americas. Friend is currently the Product Nation leader in Canada. He joined FCTG as a consultant in Melbourne in 1996. Highlights of his career have included leading FCTG businesses in Western and South Australia, and as managing director of Flight Centre New Zealand he achieved the best-ever profits in the history of the business in that country.
Emma Jupp will be the new EVP of product for the Americas. Jupp began her career with Flight Centre in Vancouver almost twenty years ago. She has been Product Nation leader in both Canada and the U.S., and was the managing director of Backroad Touring Company in the UK. Jupp will be based in the company’s Ramsey, NJ, headquarters until June 2016, and will then return home to Toronto.
