Sabre and Avis Budget Group Enhance Agent Booking

Sabre and Avis Budget Group, Inc. report they have teamed up to provide Avis Car Rental and Budget Car Rental customers the option to rent ancillary products through Sabre-connected travel agents worldwide.

The “car extras” merchandising capability can be shopped, booked and confirmed in the Sabre Red Workspace. Travel agents can now clearly identify the products offered — Global Positioning System (GPS) devices, ski racks and child safety seats — along with the pricing for each, and receive booking confirmation, Sabre says.

“Merchandising through the Sabre travel marketplace provides Avis Budget Group with the ability to market and sell special equipment to the broadest audience of global travelers,” said Shelly Terry, vice president, supplier merchandising for Sabre Travel Network. “This will help them meet their customer loyalty goals and maximize sales while also enabling efficient, comprehensive comparison shopping for travelers.”
