Sabre Corporation has announced the signing of new distribution agreements with Virgin Australia and First Car Rental.
As part of the agreement Sabre will provide content, merchandising solutions and Sabre Marketplace Analytics to Virgin Australia. Virgin Australia will be able to view shopping activity made within the Sabre travel marketplace for their routes, and generate insights that drive incremental revenue and increased yield, Sabre said.
Additionally, Virgin Australia will be able to market and sell airfares as well as ancillary products and optional extras such as seats with extra legroom through Sabre using ATPCo and IATA standards, including the electronic miscellaneous document (EMD) standard that allows agents to purchase airline ancillary products on behalf of their clients.
This new agreement follows Virgin Australia's recent decision to renew and expand its technology agreement with Sabre for the SabreSonic Customer Sales & Service (CSS) reservations system.
First Car Rental
Under the agreement with First Car Rental, Sabre travel agents will now have access to the South African car hire company's rates and services through the Sabre Travel Marketplace.
Agents can also view special equipment fees and applicable travel agency commission during the car shopping process. The new content is available now in Sabre.
