Sabre Travel Network and American Express To Launch New 'cubeless' Technology

Sharing information within a company will get easier by mid-2008 with the launch of a new technology platform named "cubeless" by Sabre Travel Network and American Express Business Travel. The new platform will facilitate sharing of knowledge and expertise by corporate employees, including travel information.

"Cubeless allows you to connect and benefit from the collective experience and expertise of your follow travelers or colleagues," said Tom Klein, executive vice president for Sabre Holdings and group president of the Sabre Travel Network.

Applications might include a road warrior connecting to cubeless to get recommendations. For techies, it's called a Social Networking Platform and its first Enterprise 2.0 Community Platform. The cubeless system has global applications, too Sabre says. Sabre and American Express have also collaborated with Sabre's GetThere, corporate travel program. Sabre also benefits from its IgoUgo system, an online travel community. Smart money is betting on more community/networking initiatives from Sabre. (GD)
