Scenic Cruises is shaping up and shipping out in 2014, this time on an extended journey on the Seine. A tidal river, parts of the Seine cannot accommodate the bulk of river cruise ships; however, Scenic Cruises has constructed a brand-new ship that was made to navigate the tricky parts of the river.
The Scenic Gem will sail from Paris to Honfleur on an 11-day Gems of the Seine cruise, says Marco Frank, director of marketing for Scenic Cruises. The itinerary can also be combined with the Southern France itinerary.
Another new itinerary for 2014 is the Treasures of Europe, which is an extension of the Jewels of Europe route. This takes travelers to the northern part of the Netherlands region.
It should be noted that Scenic Cruises are all-inclusive, including alcohol and gratuities.
