On Site: Amadeus Supports Agent 3.0 With Mobile Booking Site

Amadeus is working toward the agent of tomorrow. With the explosion of social media and mobile technology, it has become more than suggested that agents get online. In keeping with this, Amadeus has launched a mobile booking site for agents: Travena.

"This new travel agency booking platform is truly web-based," Carolyn Cauceglia, vice president of strategic sales & account management of Amadeus, told the group at the General Session of ASTA's 2011 Travel Retailing and Destination Expo. "There is no software required and it is accessible anywhere, at any time with an internet connection. If you have your tablet or smart phone you can book travel and service your clients wherever they are."

Travena will roll out in North America in December, initially in English, Spanish and French, with more destinations and languages to follow.
