Springfield, MO, CVB Receives Award for Mobile Application

Underscoring the growing importance of mobile apps to the travel industry, the Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau reports it received a Silver 2010 W³ Award for its mobile application from the International Academy of the Visual Arts.

The CVB’s mobile application is designed to guide visitors through the city and enhance their travel experience with listings of hotels, attractions, dining, events, etc.

The W³ Awards honor outstanding websites, web marketing, web video and mobile apps. The organization received more than 3,000 entries.

The free application is available for any Internet-enabled phone at www.VisitSpringfield.mobi or search for “Springfield, Missouri” in a mobile applications store. The application was launched in May.
