SYTA Meeting Raises $15,000 for SYTA Youth

The recent 2011 Student & Youth Travel Association (SYTA) Summit in Irvine, Calif., held the first annual "Wine & Wig" benefit, raising $15,000 in proceeds from ticket and wig sales going to support the programs of the SYTA Youth Foundation (SYF). Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, SYF provides scholarships and other financial assistance for kids who would otherwise be unable to participate in their school and group-based travel experiences.

The "Wine & Wig" benefit is a new addition to the SYTA Summit schedule, which each year offers educational and networking opportunities for SYTA and prospective SYTA members.

Says SYTA and SYF Executive Director Carylann Assante, "The educational programming and networking offerings at SYTA Summit 2011 provided strong value to our members," said Carylann Assante, SYTA and SYF executive director. "And that’s just a taste of the powerful line-up we’ve got planned for our 15th Annual Conference in New York City, August 19-23, 2011."
