Travel Counsellors formed a training partnership with Agents Who Excel, a new professional development company for the travel industry, to benefit the host agency's members. Founded by Kelley Sexton, a business executive turned home-based travel agent, AWE provides Internet-based and direct business training, counseling and guidance. Travel Counsellors is the third major travel company to form an alliance with AWE. Late last year, a major cruise line announced it was going to encourage its registered agents to try AWE's programs. Sexton says negotiations are already underway with several other host agencies that see the likely benefit for their agents' bottom lines.
