Travelport Agents Can Now Sell United Economy Plus

Travelport reports it has implemented the ability for Travelport-connected  agents in the U.S. to sell United Airlines Economy Plus seating through their standard desktop and workflow processes. This capability provides multiple opportunities for agents to sell the additional space and comfort Economy Plus offers to their travelers while maintaining the value of GDS booking and processing efficiency that agencies have come to expect from Travelport.

“We’re delighted to provide Travelport-connected travel agents in the U.S. with the ability to offer their customers United Economy Plus Seating,” said Dan Westbrook, vice president, Supplier Development, Travelport. “Our launch with United is more proof positive that Travelport is ready, willing and able to deliver technology to market and merchandise ancillary products and services to and through the travel agency channel; do it in a way that protects the integrity and efficiency of the travel shopping, GDS booking and management process for travel agents and at the same time, provide travelers with options and transparency.”

“United is pleased to work with Travelport to broaden our distribution of Economy Plus through channels where our customers shop,” said Amos Khim, managing director, Marketing Distribution Strategy, United Airlines.

United Airlines is the most recent of a number of high profile merchandising announcements that Travelport has made with key carriers over the past several months.
