Travelport has signed a new multi-year agreement with Agência Abreu, which will see the leading travel agency in Portugal continue to benefit from the extensive breadth of content provided by the Galileo GDS platform.
Travelport, which operates in 160 countries connecting 60,000 travel agencies and offering content from 430 airlines (including 60 low-cost carriers) and 87,000 hotel properties, will further reinforce Agência Abreu’s services and products to customers in Portugal as well as Spain, the U.S. and Brazil.
Commenting on the agreement, Travelport country manager in Portugal and Brazil, António Loureiro said, “We are very proud of the signature on the new agreement. It reveals the excellent relationship that we have always had with Agência Abreu. This new agreement will carry several benefits to both enterprises and will also allow the distribution of Agência Abreu’s offer on a larger scale. We hope to continue this successful affiliation far into the future.”
Agência Abreu has over 120 offices in the main cities in which it operates. Founded in 1840 in Porto by Bernardo Abreu, Agência Abreu is Galileo’s oldest customer in Portugal. In its early days, Agência Abreu focused on travel management between Portugal and Brazil. In 2008, Agência Abreu was awarded the tourism gold merit by the Spanish government.
