Ueberroth to Keynote CLIA's 2008 Conference

The Cruise Lines International Association has selected Peter Ueberroth, former commissioner of Major League Baseball, to deliver the keynote address at its cruise3sixty conference March 7-9 in Fort Lauderdale. The annual CLIA event brings together travel agents and suppliers to discuss a variety of topics and trends. Ueberroth, who headed MLB from 1984 to 1989, had his start in the travel industry when he opened an agency 40 years ago. He now is managing director of Contrarian Group, an investment and management company, as well as owner of the Pebble Beach Company, and sits on the board of Ambassadors International, which operates Majestic America Line and Windstar Cruises. Ueberroth also is lending his expertise as chairman of the United States Olympic Committee as it prepares for the Beijing Games this summer. Visit http://www.cruise3sixty.com. (DE)
