Uniglobe Turns to Amadeus for Technology Platform

Amadeus has signed an agreement to provide a global technology platform to travel franchise company Uniglobe Travel. The platform will be used by Uniglobe agencies in Europe, Asia, The Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America and will include travel agency desktop Vista, the first browser-based point-of-sale platform that lets travel professionals focus on selling travel and developing customer relations, using both cryptic and GUI modes. The scalable solution is suitable for both small and large agencies. A corporate self-booking portal provides a flexible online booking solution to help corporations more effectively manage their travel programs in conjunction with preferred agency partners. Employees will be able to plan and book policy-compliant travel itineraries directly from any PC connected to the Internet. Amadeus Quality Control will allow Uniglobe agencies to constantly monitor the quality control of a client's PNR while automatically searching for lower fares, seat assignments and upgrade options for clients. According to Martin H. Charlwood, president, Uniglobe Travel International, the full integration of all point-of-sale activities and increased automation of time-consuming tasks means agents can focus more on selling, marketing and providing service to their clients.
