Smart Traveler, the official U.S. State Department app for U.S. travelers, facilitates safe, informative and organized travel for vacationers and business travelers alike.
The new travel app, which was recently released on June 14, 2011, offers easy access to the frequent updates on official country information, travel alerts and warnings, maps, U.S. embassy locations and more. Smart Traveler also enables users to build itineraries, add notes and organize trips.
Furthermore, the State Department’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) is also made available to users. STEP allows the State Department to better assist travelers in emergencies and can also help family and friends communicate in an emergency.
Smart Traveler provides access to the Department’s Consular Affairs Facebook and Twitter pages.
