Vacation.com Celebrates Year of Luxury

Vacation.com reported it has significantly strengthened its position as a luxury-focused organization in 2010 by adding many key suppliers to its upscale portfolio and having a strong presence at last week’s Luxury Travel Expo (LTE). Vacation.com does more than $300 million in luxury sales annually.

High-end preferred suppliers who joined the organization this year include Cox & Kings, Tauck, Smithsonian Journeys Travel Adventures, Kensington Tours, Compagnie du Ponant Yacht Cruises and, most recently, Fairmont | Raffles | Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts. These respected companies perfectly complement those already included in Vacation.com’s luxury portfolio, including Silversea Cruises, Crystal Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises, to name a few.

“By providing more premium products that generate higher commissions, we are presenting our members more profitable ways to meet the needs of their upscale clients,” said Steve Tracas, Vacation.com’s president and CEO. “With more than $300 million in luxury sales annually, Vacation.com members have proved they have the experience and knowledge to sell these products successfully.”

Vacation.com’s partnership with Luxury Travel Expo, which took place last week at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, included an overall show sponsorship, exhibitor space at the trade show and an exclusive reception for its members in attendance. In addition, Tracas moderated the luxury cruise executive panel, and Stephen McGillivray, Vacation.com’s vice president of marketing and public relations, was a panelist on the river cruise session.

“The response we received from agents at LTE was overwhelming. Many were impressed at how well we empower our luxury-focused members, and at the depth and range of our marketing, training and cruise programs, which are free for travel advisors as part of their Vacation.com membership,” said Tracas.
