Hosts Top Members Onboard Avalon Illumination recently hosted 28 of its top members and their guests on a chartered five-night cruise aboard Avalon Waterways' Avalon Illumination.

The celebratory cruise embarked from Brussels, Belgium, on March 23 and took guests throughout the country as well as the Netherlands. Guests participated in excursions such as a half day in the Keukenhof gardens, an in-depth tour of 17th century windmills in Kinderdijk and an evening in Rotterdam for a “Best of Rotterdam” gala dinner event.

Destinations and ports of call on the cruise included: Bruges and Ghent, Belgium; as well as Amsterdam, Keukenhof, Kinderdijk, Middleburg, Rotterdam, Veere, and Willemstad in the Netherlands. While docked in Keukenhof, attendees were able to partake in an excursion to the Keukenhof gardens. The history of Keukenhof, which means “kitchen garden,” dates back to the 15th century. Guests could experience the beauty of the gardens and the brilliant bulb flowers, including striking colors of the flowering tulips. Each year, more than 100 local growers and exporters supply Keukenhof with their “cream of the crop” bulbs for planting within the garden. members were also treated to an evening at Arminius Church in Rotterdam for their “Best of Rotterdam” gala dinner event. Guests were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine and a trumpeter as they took their seat for dinner. During the fête, guests enjoyed a five-course dinner and entertainment compliments of the Petticoats, a trio highlighting favorite hits from the 1950s with a modern twist.
