Summer stays in professionally managed vacation rental homes, condos and villas across North America are up nine percent from their 2010 levels, according to the Vacation Rental Managers Association (VRMA) and NAVIS Research LLC. The news is a big win for an already fast-growing market.
Industry experts expect this trend to continue, attributing its growth to travelers' rising knowledge of vacation rentals and their benefits.
"Consumer awareness of vacation rentals is up, while the amount of inventory has stabilized due to the slowdown of new construction. Many companies are serving a fast-growing market, especially during peak seasons," explains Alex Risser, president of VRMA. "With more than 80 percent of rental companies across North America predicting more reservations this year, the
word is definitely out."
