Viceroy Hotel Group Names Bill Walshe CEO

Viceroy Hotel Group is happy to announce that after a comprehensive search conducted by its Board of Directors, Bill Walshe has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Walshe replaces former CEO Nicholas Clayton, who left to become COO of Jumeirah Group.

Walshe, a 20-year veteran who was previously with the Dublin-based luxury brand, The Doyle Collection, comes into his role at a time of great growth for the company. To date, Viceroy has added three new properties in the Maldives, New York City and San Francisco, as they've recently announced the openings of Viceroy Istanbul and Bodrum, in 2013 and 2014 respectively.

With this kind of worldwide growth, Walshe provides Viceroy with a global mindset as he brings a substantial amount of senior management expertise from his time with leading international hospitality companies including Jumeriah Group, Kempinski Hotels and Resorts, and as stated earlier, The Doyle Collection, says Viceroy management.

Says Carlos Obeid, Chairman of Viceroy Hotel Group's Board of Directors, "...Bill’s international experience and recognition as a leader within the industry will enable him to lead the continued growth and development of Viceroy Hotel Group as we expand our global foot print with new destinations in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.”
