Virgin America Taps AA Exec as CEO

C. David Cush, a former senior vice president of global sales at American Airlines, will replace Fred Reid as CEO of Virgin America on December 10. Prior to his 20 years of service with American, Cush was COO of Aerolineas Argentinas, the national carrier of Argentina. "I could not be more pleased about the selection of David as the new CEO of Virgin America," said Reid. "David brings broad business experience, great energy and high enthusiasm that will take Virgin America to the next level." Reid, a native of the United States, was required to vacate the post per the terms set forth by the U.S. Department of Transportation, which believed he held a too-close relationship with foreign investors.
