Virgin Atlantic Airways has launched a new iPhone and Android app for vacationing globetrotters. Trip Journal, as it is called, is Virgin Atlantic’s fourth app in its collection, and it allows travelers to log their holiday experiences and share them with family and friends from around the world.
This free app, which was created in conjunction with development partner iQuest, allows users to share their holiday experiences through photos, videos and notes with their friends and family on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Picasa and Flickr. The app also includes destination guides and travel tips from Virgin Atlantic’s social community VTravelled.com.
The app utilizes GPS technology to help users record and edit waypoints for destinations that they have visited. Users can also tag photos and videos that they can easily share with their friends and family members via Facebook, add comments, write notes in a journal and view and manage multiple trips. In addition, the app offers users the ability to track their trips in real time using a Map View function, as well as save memories from past trips via its Trip Archive function.
