The Week in Stats: Holiday Travel and 2015 Prices Set to Rise

Industry findings indicate that November 2014 travel sales declined, though an estimated 98.6 million Americans will be traveling this holiday season. Additionally, an increase in air and hotel rates is expected in 2015.

Statistics point to a significant increase in road travel (91%), while air travel frequency since 2013 has barely changed (with only a 1% increase over the last year) during the holiday period.

Regardless of the predicted rise in air and hotel costs, visitors will continue to travel "down under" to view the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, and prioritize easy-access accommodation over price.
