Capella Hotels and Resorts, which manages such luxury hotels as Capella Singapore and Capella Pedregal in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, assumed management of Discovery at Marigot Bay in St. Lucia after it was acquired by an international development group in August.
Capella has started to introduce its philosophy at the resort, which has been rebranded as Capella Marigot Bay, St. Lucia and will begin renovations shortly with an expected completion date of September 2014. The resort will remain fully operational throughout the renovations.

Capella and the ownership group intends to further develop the Marina Village to feature art galleries, world-class food and beverage establishments, gourmet stores, fine spirits shop, high-end boutiques and a jewelry store, a ship chandlery provider, specialty dive shops and other top attractions.
Existing resort suppliers like Moorings who are based out of the Marina have also been invited to submit proposals and fresh concepts to coincide with the refurbishment of the Marina Village. Local businesses are highly encouraged to participate in upcoming tenders as well, which will be announced in due course.

For clients' and yacht owners’ convenience, the Marina Village is the home to a customs and immigrations service center that ensure travelers have all the proper support services provided by the St. Lucia government as an international port of entry into the country.
Capella Marigot Bay is located alongside Marigot Bay, once described by the legendary American author James Albert Michener as “the most beautiful in the Caribbean.” Currently the resort features 124 rooms that include fifty-seven suites (most with their own private plunge pools) with spacious balconies and extensive views of the bay, dining and pampering at the Lapli Spa.
