Sandals Barbados Officially Reopens

Sandals Barbados has opened following a $65 million renovation at the site of the former Couples Barbados, the Caribbean Journal. The property is in Christ Church on the south coast of the island.

The couples-only property has a new Club Sandals lounge, CIT Magazine reports, six more treatment rooms at the Red Land Spa, and 280 rooms across three villages: Ocean Village, Crystal Lagoon Village and Caribbean Village

Room types include beachfront butler suites, or new swim-up river suites with access to a lagoon pool.

According to the New York Times, the resort has three pools, one of which will have cabanas with sofas, chandeliers and outlets for charging mobile devices. The resort has 11 restaurants, including Sandals' first Indian restaurant, Bombay Club

Sandals Barbados is a couples-only resort. Sandals plans to introduce a family all-inclusive resort in Barbados later in 2015.
