Shanghai Subways Collide, Injuring Over 270

Two Shanghai subway trains collided this morning, Tuesday, September 27, injuring over 270 passengers, according to Reuters.

The report says that the collision occurred near the Yu Yuan gardens in central Shanghai following a signal malfunction. The injuries were limited to bruises and fractures and no one is in critical condition.

A similar crash occurred in July when two high-speed trains collided, killing 40. This most recent disaster has caused the people of Shanghai to question China's rail building plans.
