DETROIT (AP) — A company that makes handcrafted wristwatches and bikes in Detroit is teaming with Dan Gilbert's real estate firm to open a hotel.
Shinola and real estate company Bedrock announced plans Wednesday for the Shinola Hotel in downtown Detroit. It's scheduled to open in the fall of 2018.
The more than 130-room boutique hotel will feature Detroit-inspired design. Gilbert founded Detroit-based Quicken Loans and owns the Cleveland Cavaliers.
