Six Senses Ultra-Luxury Resort Being Developed in Nanxun, China

OZ Holdings, LLC, a New York City-based real estate investment company, has signed a long-term agreement with Six Senses Resorts & Spas for China's first ultra-luxury five-star wellness resort, in the ancient town of Nanxun, a proposed UNESCO heritage site. Nanxun is approximately a one-hour drive from central Shanghai via a new four-lane roadway.

The 20-acre resort will contain 142 guest accommodations (100 studio rooms, 40 pool villas and two private retreats) and 20 residential villas. Its spa will provide modern and traditional Chinese medical and therapies in12 treatment rooms. There also will be four food and beverage outlets, conferencing facilities and other services onsite. Amenities are to include private plunge pools, library and watercraft for canal transportation within the complex.

Under terms of the agreement, Six Senses will manage, operate, brand and promote the development, which is being positioned as China's premier resort spa destination with a strong natural medical and lifestyle approach. The resort is pushing for a 2010 opening. (MR)
