Brittany Bridgewater, 30
Point Pleasant, NJ
In addition to being a Signature Travel Network expert, Brittany Bridgewater of TravelSmiths, Inc., was one of five to attend a recent trip sponsored by Signature and the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) to promote the 2020 Olympics.
“Brittany is one of my top agents and has been working for me for the past five years,” says TravelSmiths owner Sally Jane Smith. “She is one of the most ambitious people I know and so eager to learn about the travel industry.”
One way Bridgewater learns is by using herself as a “guinea pig” for new vacation ideas, particularly intricate ones. One recent road trip through Germany, Switzerland and Austria had her staying in a different location every night, visiting Munich, Zurich, the Swiss Alps, Lucerne, Innsbruck, Hallstatt and Salzburg.
“It was by far the most challenging [trip], but also the most rewarding,” Bridgewater says. “I sold the same road trip to an adventure-seeking client less than one month after my return.”
Another tip? It may sound simple, but don’t forget to follow up.
“For clients who reach out for pricing to book a trip, but then decide against it, I continue to send them updates when there are current promotions and offers regarding their trip,” Bridgewater says. “I have received a ton of business from doing this with clients that I previously would have ruled out.”
Bridgewater’s next big recommendation: Australia, where she just spent two weeks. “As soon as I returned, I started pitching this as a honeymoon location for those who want to experience beauty, wildlife and adventure in an English-speaking destination,” she says.
