To say that Henry Dennis is a relationship builder is an understatement. A 27-year travel industry veteran, he’s been with AAA Carolinas in Charlotte, NC for 20 years. His branch manager, Carol Cain, says Dennis shines on many levels.
“He has an entrepreneurial approach to developing deep relationships with new and repeat clients. These clients see him as the best in the industry and trust him with frequent referrals to friends and family,” says Cain.
By any account, Dennis’ success is enviable. His book of business is close to $3 million per year, earning him an ongoing spot in the AAA Carolinas President’s Club. He’s a frequent top-tour producer for AAA and holds countless specialty certifications.
He is also “the consummate learner,” says Cain. “He makes it his business to stay up to date on industry and destination developments.” Or, as Dennis says, simply, “I treat this as my career and not as a job.”
That career has rewarded him with long-time clients trusting him to plan their “trips of a lifetime.” One recent example: a grandmother-grandson bonding trip through South America and the Amazon.
Big or small, a Henry Dennis-planned trip has the same result: “Henry’s satisfaction scores are always ‘Totally Satisfied,’” says Cain.
Dennis constantly works to build upon and expand key relationships. He sends out 175 birthday cards each month to clients, and he’s adapted to social media trends, as well.
“Today a traveler is quick to whip out a cell phone to record events as they happen and post them online,” says Dennis. To keep up the competitive edge, he has re-launched his Facebook page, “Globe Hopping With Henry,” where he posts travel trends, news and information. He has more than 400 people interacting with it. Thus far, he has 800-plus friends on Facebook and growing.
