Tiffanee Fouts, 26
New Lenox, IL
Tiffanee Fouts bought her Cruise Planners franchise four years ago when she was in the midst of preparing for a career in finance. Just 22 at the time, she took the leap and launched her own business. “I’ve never looked back. My family taught me the value of travel and experience over material things — so travel has always been a meaningful part of my life. The places we traveled became my classroom and tour guides became my best teachers,” she says.
Fouts found early success: In 2019 she achieved “Rock Star" status in the Cruise Planners franchise system, given when total commissionable sales for the year are over $300,000. “I was ecstatic to earn this status as it was a goal of mine since the beginning of my business journey,” says Fouts.
“As a Millennial, it’s no surprise that technology and social media are a key elements of Tiffanee’s business strategy, but more importantly, she understands the traveler’s desire for authentic human connection and has built a solid business on positioning herself as a travel expert that clients can turn toward, especially with travel changing so rapidly,” says Michelle Fee, CEO & Founder of Cruise Planners.
Fouts also embraces an aspect of travel most people don’t see. “A responsibility as a travel advisor is to be there for my clients when ‘the ships hit the sand,’” she says. “This is the unglamorous side of the travel advisor life, full of late nights researching on various travel sites, or long hours spent on hold, but it can be the most fulfilling.”
That grit has earned her reviews like the following on social media: “When a cruise we booked cancelled due to a drought in Europe, Tiffanee was able to find another cruise during the same time for less money that turned out to be fabulous. Thanks, Tiffanee!”
