Starwood to Open Ski Resort in China

Skiers will know Colorado's Aspen and Switzerland's Valais region, but do snow bunnies know about China's slopes? Starwood Hotels & Resorts will be opening a dual-branded ski resort complex in Changbaishan, China, adjacent to the slopes of the Changbai Mountains.

The Westin Changbaishan and Sheraton Changbaishan Resort will open in August 2012. The Westin Changbaishan Resort will offer ski-in/ski-out access, a Westin Kids Club, signature Heavenly Spa and an indoor swimming pool. All 257 rooms will have the Westin Heavenly Bed, as well.

The Sheraton Changbaishan Resort will have 296 guest rooms and suites with mountain or ski views, as well as a Sheraton Club lounge and Sheraton Club rooms. Other amenities will include a full-service restaurant and lounge, spa, indoor heated pool and fitness center.
