The company has also released key insights from its team of travel counselors:

Longer Babymoons: So long are the days when couples would escape for a weekend to the Caribbean before welcoming their bundle of joy. Travel Counselors note that expecting duos are now traveling farther - and longer - to relax and renew before the arrival of their little one(s).

Move over, Disney: Travel Counselors report that families are expanding beyond the usual visit to Mickey and Minnie for other experiences in the U.S. and abroad. From exploring the coastal regions of California and wildlife spotting in Jackson Hole, WY, to enjoying pizza- and gelato-making classes in Italy, traveling broods are venturing farther and discovering new things and places. Not all families are looking for structure; they look forward to discovering hidden gems during their travels.

Milestone Celebrations on the Rise: Whether it’s a 50th birthday or an anniversary, Travel Counselors site an increase in customers celebrating milestone celebrations abroad, such as Europe and Asia.

Eye on Millennial Couples: Millennials continue to turn to travel professionals for help in planning their far-flung escapes. Travel Counselors note they have seen an increase in requests from couples in their late 20’s - early 30’s for romantic escapes. These trips, on average, are at least 15 days, according to Travel Counselors. These couples don’t mind destination hopping during their travels, as long they are getting the most value of out their trip.

Millennials Seeking More Guidance: Travel counselors realize more and more millennials are turning to them for guidance on how to get the best value for diverse experiences. Millennial consumers are in high-stress jobs and often don’t have time to plan their trips. This key audience understands the benefits of working with a travel counselor, and, also enjoys the “bragging rights” that come with having an expert plan their trip.  While they do not necessarily conduct their own research before reaching out to a travel counselor, they do look into the options they’re given.

Eastern Canada: Eastern Canada has always been a popular destination for travelers, especially Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. Montreal and Quebec are also top spots for visitors. Since the region is easily accessible from the Northeast, travelers can save on air costs and drive in.

Oregon: Popular activities in Oregon include visiting the coast or wine country, as well as the Central Oregon Cascades and Columbia River Gorge. Many travelers staying in Oregon wish to extend their stays in other Pacific Northwest cities.
