Tourism Australia has appointed a new regional general manager for the North and South America. Jane Whitehead will take up the role of Regional General Manager Americas in the coming months.
Whitehead is currently Vice President Marketing for Qantas in North America. She started her career as a journalist at the Australian Financial Review, and in her time at Qantas was instrumental in managing strategy development as well as running the Qantas investor relations program. Whitehead replaces Daryl Hudson, who advised the national tourism agency earlier this year that he would not renew his contract when it expired in late 2012.
For Tourism Australia, the Americas region covers the United States, its fourth largest international market, in addition to Canada and the emerging South American market, including Brazil.
