Operators: Bill, Ana Haven’t Yet Hurt Caribbean Bookings

Travel Agent reached out to several Caribbean tour operators and learned that neither the strengthening Hurricane Bill nor Monday’s Tropical Depression Ana hurt Caribbean bookings.

A spokesperson for MLT Vacations told Travel Agent the company received “a few inquiries on Puerto Rico, but nothing significant” due to Ana.

As far as Bill goes, she told us “It appears that the storm track should leave us in a good spot until it approaches Bermuda, and even then we have very little exposure.”

Travel Impressions has not seen any effect of either storm on its Caribbean bookings. “As far as we know, the path of Hurricane Bill is clear of any of the Caribbean islands and Ana was only a tropical storm,” a Travel Impressions spokesperson told Travel Agent. “We have a special team ready to handle any weather or other emergency-related issues, and it has not been activated.  We do monitor all storm activity so we can move quickly to assist our customers and their traveling clients. So, in this case, no news is good news.”

Travel Agent will continue to stay on top of all new developments regarding Hurricane Bill.
