The Cruise Industry Charitable Foundation (CICF) has donated $25,000 to the American Diabetes Association for this year’s “Tour de Cure” event, a bike race that raises money and aims to increase awareness of diabetes.
“It is amazing to see all the great work being done by the American Diabetes Association to help cure this terrible disease and to help all those affected by it,” said Jim Border, chairman of CICF.
Over 500 cyclists gathered in Lakewood Ranch, Florida on April 12 to participate in the race.
The American Diabetes Association funds research to prevent, cure and manage diabetes and provides objective and credible information to the public about the disease.
The Cruise Industry Charitable Foundation, founded in 1998, is a nonprofit organization which aims to improve the quality of life in communities served by members of the Cruise Lines International Association.
