Denver Tour Operator Closes; FunJet Offers Deals to Their Clients

Long-time Denver tour operator Mile Hi Tours is shuttering its doors after nearly 33 years of service, citing the travel industry's shifting focus on short-term profits over service and customer relationships. "Unfortunately, the travel industry has moved away from service as a valued selling point, and short-term profit has become more valued than established, trusted relationships," wrote Mile Hi President Pam Murdock on the company's web site. "We did our best to compete in this new technology-driven, mega-business environment. Regrettably, we were just too small and too focused on personal service and we missed the shift in the changing marketplace." Meanwhile, Funjet Vacations is offering special deals for former Mile Hi clients. Save $100 per reservation on air and hotel vacations to Mexico for departures through Dec. 15, booked by June 30. Use the promo code FJVM100, Funjet said. Also, save $40 per reservation on domestic air and hotel vacations for departures through Dec. 15, and booked by June 30. Use promo code FJVM50. Log on to [www.VAXVacationaccess.com] to take advantage of the deals, the company said.
