First Attraction in Aruba with Green Globe Accreditation

On Tuesday, Atlantis Submarines became the first attraction in Aruba to be certified by Green Globe, the sustainability certification recognized by tour operators worldwide.

In a written statement, Atlantis Submarines General Manager, Reinder Fit said, “This is a fantastic achievement for us and it signals that we have started down a positive path to measuring and reducing our carbon footprint as well as increasing our overall positive impact on the social and natural environment.”

The management of Atlantis Submarines Aruba seized the opportunity with the slowdown in business due to the economic crisis to make good use of the available time. A number of areas for improving environmental responsibility and saving money have been identified and they will be worked on in the coming months and years.

Green Globe CEO Guido Bauer said in a written statement, “We have worked with Atlantis for many years and it is very satisfying to be able to make this accreditation. This unique attraction provides many people the opportunity to explore nature and deeply appreciate the importance of caring for coral reef systems around the world.”
