Foodie Report: What’s on Tap for This Year’s Cornucopia in Whistler

The 20th anniversary of Cornucopia, presented by BlueShore Financial, will be taking place from November 10 through 20 in Whistler, British Columbia.

Over 125 events will be available to attendees, including educational seminars, tastings, gourmet luncheons, and winemaker dinners.

Highlights of the fundamental wellness workshops from the Nourish Series lineup include topics such as The Ancient Art of Fermentation; Aging Gracefully; For the Love of Plants; and Nose to Tail Techniques and Traditions. Additionally, a four-day Nourish Retreat is returning to Cornucopia from November 17-20.

For drink lovers, seminars and expert debates on wine, spirits, and craft beers will be available, such as: 500-Year History of Gin; Top Value Wines; Bio-dynamics: Wine Fad or Wine’s Future?; and Mix It Up & Chow It Down: Pairing Food and Cocktails.

The festival’s Signature Tastings – where guests can sample a multitude of beverages in one room – will be a focal point of the festival. Kicking off the festival on Thursday will be Cornucopia’s 20th Anniversary Party: A Showcase of Whistler Culinary Excellence. Following is Cellar Door Grand Tasting. Now in its third year, this tasting event showcases top-shelf wines. Also celebrating its 20th anniversary is the not-to-miss Crush Grand Tasting, where 75 wineries each pour a selection of wines from their portfolios, while With a Twist Silent Disco caps off the first weekend. 

House Party: Best of BC will get things going for weekend two which will include Brewed: BC Craft Brewers Guild Winter Beer Market and Cornucopia Night Market: Taste the World on Friday, Poured Grand Tasting on tap for Saturday, and Bearfoot Bistro’s World Oyster Invitational & Bloody Caesar Battle slated for Sunday.
