Globus Family of Brands has named Terri Burke as director of national accounts. In her new post, Burke will work with the Globus sales team to continue to grow and solidify the company’s relationships with consortia and national travel agent accounts. She will also lead the company’s award-winning Globus Travel University program.
“Terri is a well-respected leader in the travel industry and brings to our robust team a strong history of stellar sales, business development and industry relations experience,” said Paula Hayes, vice president of sales for the Globus Family of Brands. “She also authored a winning online travel university. We believe her experience will help us propel our education and relationship-building initiatives to the next level.”
Burke brings both an extensive and varied background to her new role with the Globus Family of Brands. She began her career in the travel industry as a frontline travel agent. Since then, she has grown from agent to executive with a travel career that spans more than 30 years. She has held leading roles with such supplier and retail industry leaders as AAA National, Holland America, Norwegian Cruise Line and Cruise Planners/American Express.
“As a recent graduate of the Globus Travel University and champion of travel industry education and certification, I’m extremely excited to dive into my new position with the Globus family,” said Burke. “My relationships and experience give me a strong foundation from which to draw inspiration, helping motivate, encourage and support sales growth.”
Globus also announced the promotion of Colleen McGuire to manager of field sales for the company. Reporting to Sharon Symons, director of field sales, in her new role McGuire will oversee the day-to-day needs of the field sales team while helping implement sales plans for Globus, Cosmos, Monograms and Avalon Waterways. McGuire joined the company in 2004 and most recently supported the sales team as a regional business development manager.
Littleton, Colorado-based Group Voyagers, Inc. is the privately held company that markets and sells the Globus Family of Brands within the U.S. Globus, Cosmos, Monograms and Avalon Waterways offer travelers tours, independent travel package, river- and small-ship cruise options.
