To offer more honeymooning vacation options in Europe, Switzerland's Baur au Lac and Italy's Hotel Hassler Roma have each launched honeymoon packages through the end of the year.
Through December 31, the Swiss hotel Baur au Lac is offering a three-night deal, including opera tickets at the Zurich Opera House and boat ride on Lake Zurich.
Through Dec. 20, the Hotel Hassler Roma's package includes three nights alongside the chef's tasting menu for two at Imàgo, the Michelin-starred panoramic restaurant, and the imagoCouples massage at the Amorvero Spa.
Overlooking Lake Zurich and the Swiss Alps, Baur au Lac's 120-room property is situated near Zurich's Bahnhofstrasse, the Paradeplatz, and the city's financial district. Priced from $4,712 per person, based on double occupancy, the package includes accommodations in a River Suite, a five-course meal for two at the hotel's Pavillon restaurant and limousine transfers to and from Zurich airport.
Upon arrival, couples will receive a complimentary cocktail at the Rive Gauche restaurant or the Terrasse and an in-room welcome package, including a bottle of champagne, strawberries, a box of Baur au Lac's signature chocolate, Chocolat 1844, and flowers. During their stay, package features will also include a rose petal-filled bathtub, two opera tickets with a required advance reservation, a one-and-a-half-hour boat ride for two on Lake Zurich and complimentary access to the hotel's fitness club.
Located on Rome's Spanish Steps, the Hotel Hassler Roma welcomes honeymooners from April 30 and July 3-July 16 with package rates of $2,685. From July 17-Sept. 8 and from Nov. 1-Dec. 20, rates are approximately $2,389. From May 1-July 2 and Sept. 9-Oct. 31, rates are approximately $3,108. Owned and managed by Roberto E. Wirth, the hotel features 95 rooms, including 13 suites, and the Hassler-owned Il Palazzetto, a 16th-century, five-story palazzo that offers a restaurant and wine bar including terraces and four guest rooms, next door.
On their honeymoon, couples will stay in a Double Deluxe room, a bottle of Prosecco upon arrival and daily buffet breakfast in the Hassler's Salone Eva or Palm Court Garden. During their stay, honeymooners can enjoy the chef's tasting menu for two at Imàgo, the property 's Michelin-starred panoramic restaurant, daily fresh fruit in-room and a special gift from the Hassler Roma Souvenir Collection.
