On November 29, Hurtigruten’s “Great Antarctica Expedition” will depart from Buenos Aires and sail on a 20-day adventure aboard the 127-cabin MS Fram.
The trip begins with an exploration of the Faulkland Islands, South Georgia and South Orkneys, where travelers will get a chance to spot such local wildlife as penguins, seals and seabirds. They will then continue to Deception Island and Half Moon Island for snowshoe hikes, whale watching, overnight camping, kayaking, and sightseeing along the Waddell Sea. During the journey, expedition guides will lead guests through penguin colonies and provide information about the history, geology, wildlife and marine elements of the region.
