L'Auberge Del Mar Hosts Eath Day Paddle Out & Specials

Lovely Lavender Lemonade cocktailL'Auberge Del Mar is celebrating Earth Day on Monday, April 22 with its first annual Ocean Preservation Paddle Out and a host of green-friendly specials throughout the hotel including the restaurant, bar, spa and guest rooms.
 
To raise awareness for ocean preservation, L'Auberge Del Mar will host the Ocean Preservation Paddle Out on the morning of Earth Day. Participants, who can include guests, locals, and employees, will meet at Powerhouse Park at 9:00 a.m. The hotel concierge can arrange for board rentals for those who don't have their own.
 
At KITCHEN 1540, Executive Chef Scott Thomas Dolbee will prepare an Earth Day entrée: Roots, Leaves & Shoots. This vegetarian dish features local, sustainable and seasonal ingredients. The entrée is priced at $19 and will be available on April 21 and 22.
 
The hotel’s Living Room Bar will prepare an eco-friendly Lovely Lavender Lemonade cocktail, made from organic lavender vodka, strawberries, mint and lemonade. On April 21 and 22, the cocktail will be priced at $10 (normally $12).
 
Inspired by the sea, Spa L'Auberge offers the Soothing Seaweed Scrub for its Earth Day spa special. This 80-minute treatment includes an organic seaweed scrub followed by a laminaria oil massage, and will be offered at a discounted price of $165 (regularly $185) from April 20-22.
 
On April 22, hotel guests will receive souvenir "green" LED flashlights to encourage guests to minimalize the use of lights in their guest rooms. Lights will also be dimmed throughout the property to support Earth-Day energy savings.
 
L'Auberge Del Mar is an active participant in Destination Hotels & Resort's Destination Earth initiative, which seeks to promote environmental sustainability through green teams and hotel best-practices. The property also participates in the Clean the World program, which sterilizes and recycles soap and shampoo and sends it to underprivileged countries.
