Pacific Delight Tours to Offer New Gluten-Free Tours

Pacific Delight Tours has announced the launch of a new Gluten-Free tour series beginning with a fully escorted 17-day China departure on May 12. Highlights include a Yangtze River cruise onboard the recently renovated Victoria Jenna, a stroll along the Great Wall, a visit to Dali where guests will participate in a gluten-free Chinese cooking class with the hotel chef, morning tai chi exercises in the park, pandas at the Chongqing Zoo, the Terra Cotta Warriors of Xi'an and dim sum at a Shanghai tea house-all gluten-free.

"Gluten-free dietary needs are becoming increasingly common, while many patrons choose to cut gluten consumption as an optional lifestyle choice," said Charmaine Lau, operations manager for Pacific Delight Tours, in a written release. "Navigating remote areas of the world can be intimidating for travelers with special dietary needs. Our unique tours enable gluten-intolerant passengers to travel with confidence and peace of mind."

Escorting the first departure is Bernadette Sheridan, a China travel veteran who hosted celebrity chefs touring China for culinary inspiration and ideas and oversaw numerous gluten-free groups on the Yangtze River and throughout China. She currently resides in the U.S. and works in food science, exploring recipes and ingredients for gluten-free and healthy-choice diets.

The fully escorted program starts at $6,795 per person, based on double occupancy, and features roundtrip international airfare from Newark via Cathay Pacific, all intra-China flights and transfers, deluxe accommodations, private balcony Superior Stateroom on Yangtze River with daily excursions operated by Victoria Cruises, English-speaking local and national guides, sightseeing and cultural performances, taxes and service charges, as well as porterage. A supplement of $2,075 applies to single occupancy.

The program stays at hotels including Shangri-La properties in Beijing and Xi'an, the Linden Centre in Dali, and the Regal International East Asia Hotel in Shanghai.
