Rhode Island to Host NTA's New Event

The National Tour Association’s (NTA) newest networking and educational event for tour operators will debut August 1-3, 2011, in Newport, R.I. Contact is one of a suite of business-builders NTA offers to address member business and education needs. This business-builder, which focuses on the tour operator, will always be held in North America.

“At our Convention, tour operators are very busy with one-on-one appointments with suppliers and DMOs and sometimes cannot attend our educational seminars,” said NTA President Lisa Simon. “Contact will answer that need with professional development sessions designed specifically for their needs.”

Developed by a committee of NTA members, Contact offers three educational tracks built to address the three main areas of running a tour company: CEO/owner, sales and marketing and operations.

This is also an opportunity to explore Rhode Island. A pre-Familiarization tour with a culinary theme is being offered the week before, and the opening icebreaker will be held at the historic Rosecliff Mansion, which has served as the background for scenes from movies like The Great Gatsby, True Lies and Amistad.

NTA’s other business and education conferences are the Convention, this year to be held November 13–17 in Montreal, and Montage, NTA’s international event which debuted in Seville, Spain, this past April.
