Singapore Airlines Launches Green Flight

This Sunday Singapore Airlines is launching its first multi-sector test flight of the Asia and Pacific Initiative to Reduce Emissions (ASPIRE) partnership.

A host of ASPIRE efficiency-enhancing practices will be implemented on the scheduled passenger flights from Los Angeles to Singapore via Tokyo. These practices are expected to save 10,000 kg of fuel and to reduce carbon emissions by 31,300 kg.

Some of the practices include flying at optimum cruising altitude, using preferred routes and advanced navigation technology, tailored water uplift, and finely-tuned aircraft fueling.

Flight SQ11 is scheduled to depart Los Angeles on January 31 at 1:19 p.m.
